When did Artificial Intelligence start?
The origins of AI can be traced to 1956 in the US, when a conference on “artificial brains” was held at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. Organized by the mathematics department of Dartmouth College and the Rockefeller Foundation, the conference brought together 40 scientists and engineers, including notables such as John McCarthy, Alan Turing, and Marvin Minsky. The aim of the conference was to explore the feasibility of creating artificial brains with discussions revolving around artificial neural networks, symbolic reasoning and machine learning. This event marked an important milestone in the history of AI research and today, discussions about AI remain a prevalent topic around the world.
